TigerSwan’s Asset Tracking – High Value Cargo Shipments

TigerSwan’s proprietary geospatial Hawkeye Platform in conjunction with our Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) provides the core capability of our high value cargo shipment support for the pharmaceutical industry. Often these shipments are small but valuable, and require additional considerations such as temperature and humidity monitoring/reporting in addition to the risk of theft and pilferage. We routinely partner with shipping industry subject matter experts and tracking technology providers to ensure administrative process compliance and that the right sensor with the right reporting capabilities is applied to every customized asset tracking solution. We work side by side with all elements of the client supply chain system not only to ensure the asset tracking solution is appropriately administered, but also as the key component of any security anomaly or identified theft/pilferage pre-planned recovery response.

In 2022, a high value pharmaceutical shipment originating from the eastern United States destined for western Europe was being tracked and monitored by the TigerSwan GSOC. This air shipment was effectively tracked to the country of destination and monitored as the cargo was offloaded onto a locally provided and operated trucking provider. The GSOC was alerted to a tracking sensor pre-planned route anomaly (a route deviation) as the truck carrying the high value cargo drove into a remote local neighborhood and parked and the end of a dead-end road during the evening hours of the anticipated delivery date. The TigerSwan GSOC immediately activated the clients’ pre-planned theft protocol and began notifying key client personnel of the anomaly, all the while actively monitoring and reporting the truck’s location in real-time. Local law enforcement entities were directed by the TigerSwan GSOC to the location of the truck and the high value cargo was secured and taken to the authorized delivery destination. A success story that would have had a very different and costly ending if it were not for the preparedness of having an effective asset tracking solution based on technology and services provided by the TigerSwan GSOC.
